Nominations for the 2008 Board of Directors
The annual election of the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is the most important responsibility members have for continued growth and development of the Chamber. Every member in good standing (paid-up member) is eligible to serve on the Board, or to nominate a member to serve on the Board, for a twoyear term of office.
If you are interested in serving your community on the 2008 Chamber Board of Directors, please complete the attached nomination form and have another member sign as the nominator.
If you wish to nominate a member to serve on the 2008 Chamber Board of Directors, please complete the form and have the nominee accept the nomination by signing where indicated.
Saanich Peninsula Chamber Board members must be willing and prepared to:- Commit approximately 10 hours of their time monthly to attend Board meetings,monthly mixers, committee meetings and to work on committee assignmentswhich they accept;
- Provide leadership and guidance (and support) for staff who attend to the daily affairs of the Chamber;
- Continue their membership in the Chamber;
- Keep confidential the business discussions and information provided and reviewed at Board meetings;
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest which might arise during their term of office;
- Support and promote Chamber activities to the best of their ability.
The benefits Directors derive through service on the Board are:
- New contacts and networks in the business community;
- Opportunities to present and support new ideas which will help all business on the Saanich Peninsula, in the years ahead;
- Develop in-depth knowledge
