Nominations are open for the second annual Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce 2008 Crystal Awards for Business Excellence, Peninsula Chamber President Terry Stewart announced today.
“There are so many successful businesses, and great business people on the peninsula,” said Stewart. “We think it’s important to pull out all the stops once a year, and recognize the outstanding accomplishments and contributions these businesses make to the economic good health and vitality of our community.”
The awards recognize business achievements in 13 categories, including products, services, marketing, customer and employee relationships, community support, employers, employees, and entrepreneurial spirit.
“We encourage business owners, managers and employees to take a look at all the categories and consider nominating their own companies,” noted Stewart.
Businesses may self- nominate, or nominate another business they want to see recognized. Each of the awards is sponsored by a local company. Complete criteria and the nomination form is on the Peninsula Chamber website. Deadline for submissions is Friday, February 29.
This year’s awards gala will be held at Dunsmuir Lodge on Wednesday, April 16. More information on the awards and sponsorship can be obtained by calling the Peninsula Chamber office, 656-3616.
The Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, the voice of business on the Saanich Peninsula, has over 400 members. The Chamber celebrated 60 years of service to the community, in 2007.
